How the Energy Monitor helps you

Your Con Edison bill is one number, weeks late. The Energy Monitor reads the same meter Con Edison bills you from, so you can act while it still saves you money.

No more surprise bills

See what this month’s Con Edison bill is heading toward weeks before it arrives, updated as your readings come in.

Catch waste in days, not a month

Get an alert when your usage jumps, like a space heater left on or an AC that won’t switch off, instead of finding out on next month’s bill.

Make sure you’re on the cheapest rate

We price your actual usage on every Con Edison rate you qualify for, including time-of-use, and tell you if switching would cost less.

Know which hours cost you most

See when your home uses the most electricity, and get suggestions for which hours to shift and what each one is worth.

Not sure it’s worth it? Connect for free first. Your free preview already tells you whether a cheaper Con Edison rate exists for your home, before you pay anything.

How rewards work

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?

Meltek Pro costs $5.99/month or $59/year for each Con Edison account. Paying yearly saves $12.88 compared with twelve monthly payments. New accounts get a 7-day free trial first. A card is needed to start it, and you can cancel anytime in Settings before the trial ends. Connecting your account and the usage preview are free.

How does it save me money?

Three ways. It tells you if another Con Edison rate would cost you less for the way your home actually uses electricity. It alerts you as soon as Con Edison’s readings show your usage jumping, usually within a few days, so a heater or AC left running is caught well before the bill arrives. And it shows which hours cost you most, so you know what to shift. Your free preview already tells you whether a cheaper rate exists, before you pay anything.

Which utilities does the Energy Monitor work with?

Con Edison, today. The Energy Monitor reads your smart-meter data through Con Edison’s Green Button Connect program, so you need a Con Edison electric account with a smart meter. Meltek’s rewards program also covers PSEG Long Island and Orange & Rockland customers.

Do I need to buy or install a device?

No. Your Con Edison smart meter already records your home’s usage every 15 minutes. The Energy Monitor reads that data, so there is no clamp, plug or hub to install.

How does Meltek get my data?

You sign in on Con Edison’s own website and approve sharing your meter readings with Meltek. We never see your Con Edison password. Our privacy policy explains how the data is used and protected.

How soon will I see my usage?

Con Edison sends readings in batches, so a new connection usually takes a few days to fill in. After that the Energy Monitor updates as new readings arrive.

Does it work with Meltek rewards?

Yes. The Energy Monitor lives in the same Meltek account you use for demand-response rewards, so you can see your usage and earn for cutting back during peak events in one place.
