Fast payouts with QuickPayConnect
Connect your Con Edison account through QuickPayConnect and your earnings for each event typically reach your Meltek Balance within a few days, and within two weeks. You see what each event earned while summer is still on.
Your devices do the work
Connect a smart thermostat and Meltek handles summer events for you: it pre-cools your home beforehand, holds your thermostat during the event, then returns it to your normal setting afterward. Depending on your account, it can also pause EV charging.
Cash out your way
Withdraw your balance to your bank, turn it into gift cards from brands like Amazon, Target and Starbucks, or put it toward climate projects through Ecologi. There's no Meltek minimum to cash out; only some gift cards set their own.
Easy sign-up
All you need is your Con Edison account number. Connecting your coned.com account through QuickPayConnect is optional; it's how you get the fastest payouts.
Refer friends across New York
You and each friend you refer get $10 once they join and verify their phone. Meltek also works with PSEG Long Island and Orange & Rockland, so friends on Long Island and in Rockland, Orange or Sullivan County count too, and you can keep earning if you move there.

Common questions
Is Meltek part of Con Edison’s Smart Usage Rewards program?
Yes. Meltek is an official Con Edison Smart Usage Partner: we enroll you in Con Edison's Smart Usage Rewards program and pay you for using less electricity during peak summer events. Meltek won the 2025 Con Edison Smart Usage Partner Award for Residential demand response.
How fast does Meltek pay?
If your Con Edison account is connected through QuickPayConnect, your earnings for each event typically arrive within a few days, and within two weeks. Without it, they post once Con Edison's monthly settlement file arrives. Either way, the balance is yours to withdraw to your bank, turn into gift cards or put toward climate projects.
Will Meltek control my thermostat?
Only if you connect it to Meltek. Once it's connected, Meltek pre-cools your home ahead of a summer event, holds your thermostat about 5 degrees higher during the event and returns it to your normal setting afterward. You can change how many degrees in the app. Depending on your account, Meltek can also pause EV charging during events. Connecting a device is optional: you can earn by cutting usage yourself when we alert you. Con Edison's program needs a communicating interval meter, which Con Edison's smart meters are.
I have solar panels. Can I join?
Check your tariff first. If your solar is on Con Edison's Value Stack or net-metering tariff (Rider R), Con Edison's guidelines say you can join only under its Reservation Option and you get no event (kWh) payments. Reservation enrollment closes before the season starts (it closed May 1 in 2026), so you can't join partway through a season. On Value Stack, joining also permanently gives up your demand-reduction (DRV) and locational (LSRV) credits for the rest of your Value Stack term. On older, grandfathered net metering, Con Edison instead floors your event baseline at zero. Talk to us before you sign up so we can confirm which applies to you.
I live on Long Island or in Rockland, Orange or Sullivan County. Can I use Meltek?
Yes. Meltek works with PSEG Long Island and Orange & Rockland as well as Con Edison.
