If you are a Meltek user, you are already aware that the 2023 Demand Response Season has begun.
What does this mean? It means Meltek members across New York City, Long Island, and most or all of Orange, Rockland, and Westchester Counties have had opportunities to participate in energy saving events. When called to do so, users of our free service cut back on their energy consumption for short period and are in the process of receiving rewards!
Meltek’s performance rate is high as many of our users were able to successfully reduce their electricity usage during the events by pre-cooling their homes, unplugging items they weren’t using, and delaying the use of large appliances (such as running the dishwasher or laundry machine) until after the event. These small, temporary changes have large and lasting impacts on the environment. Our rewards can be cashed out in several ways, including gift cards to your favorite stores (such as Amazon, Target, Starbucks, and many more!), bank transfers, or even giving back to the community by donating to local charities.
In the last month, Meltek has configured a way to further help its users save money through the addition of automation. Meltek’s new automation feature allows you to connect your electric vehicles, electric vehicle chargers, and/or thermostat system. Why? So that you can save energy and earn money even more easily!
Is an event occurring while you’re out of the house? No Problem - because of this new feature, Meltek can automatically begin adjusting the thermostat to pre-cool your home or turn off your electric vehicle charger if you don’t need it running. If you are at home, automation paired with other changes made around the house during an event can increase your savings and rewards greatly!
